The 2025 Guns & Hoses 5K at Hobgood Park was a day to remember! Hosted by Cherokee Recreation and Parks, this annual event brings together the Cherokee County community for a friendly showdown between Team Guns (Cherokee Sheriff’s Office) and Team Hoses (Cherokee County Fire Department)—all while raising funds for incredible local causes, including Goshen Valley.
With nearly 700 runners hitting the course, the energy was electric. Families, first responders, and community members all came together for some friendly competition, but in the end, Team Hoses took home the win!
One of the most heartwarming moments? Several of the boys from Goshen Valley Boys Ranch joined in the race, running alongside the very community that supports them. Seeing them cross the finish line, surrounded by encouragement and cheers, was a reminder of why events like this matter.
In addition to the race, our Foster Parent Recruitment Team had a booth set up, sharing information about the need for foster parents in our community. It was a great opportunity to connect with those interested in making a difference in the lives of children in foster care.
At Goshen Valley, we believe that every child deserves safety, stability, and a future filled with opportunity. Thanks to events like Guns & Hoses, we’re able to continue providing foster youth with the resources and support they need to thrive.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated—whether you ran, cheered, or donated, you played a role in making a difference. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
