Goshen New Beginnings
Too many youth who age out of foster care end up in cycles of addiction, homelessness, and incarceration. Goshen New Beginnings exists to lead older foster youth into thriving independence.
The more we do while they are in foster care, the more we can do to change 3 staggering statistics.
Reduce PTSD
Former foster youth are 5x more likely to develop PTSD.
Reduce homelessness
25% of former foster youth will experience homelessness within 4 years.
Reduce drug dependency
Former foster youth are 7X more likely to develop a drug dependency.
Our Core Services
Goshen New Beginnings is an Independent Living Program for foster youth ages 17-21. Our residential and life coaching services focus on three key areas of development to equip our youth for independent life after foster care.
Employment
Finding and maintaining quality employment is critical to their long term success. We work with several local companies who do an excellent job mentoring our youth while putting them in positions to succeed in a career.
Education
Education gives our youth a foundation for a life of independence. We guide our youth through college, technical school, GED programs, or professional certifications.
Life skills
Personal finance, drivers education, and resume workshops are all critical parts of thriving independence. Our youth experience these and more at weekly life skills trainings.
