Helping youth in foster care find their purpose as they age into adulthood.

Very few youth in society are prepared for full independence when they turn 18, and youth in foster care with traumatic pasts are often further from ready. Yet, until recently, these youth had little assistance transitioning into independent adult life. This often led to homelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, prostitution, and arrests; the continuation of cycles that lead to youth being placed in foster care.

Goshen New Beginnings (GNB) exists to aid in this transition, helping youth find their purpose as they age into adulthood. GNB is an independent living program that provides care and development to young men and women from age 18 to 21.

Youth in this program attend local college classes or vocational school, hold jobs, and are taught practical life skills such as money management, drivers’ education, and professional development. Through the program, youth are equipped with the skills, resources, and community relationships they need to not just survive, but thrive in independent adult living.
