We are thrilled to announce a monumental moment in our journey towards supporting families in need – the grand opening of Goshen’s Family Resource Center!
Community members, supporters, and partners gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 15th, 2024. The event marked not just the physical opening of a new center but also a symbolic milestone in our commitment to empowering families and transforming lives.
The Family Resource Center stands as a beacon of hope and support, offering a wide array of services tailored to meet the unique needs of families in our community. From counseling and educational workshops to access to vital resources, the center is poised to be a hub of assistance and guidance for those facing various challenges. Goshen Therapeutic Services provides mental health and family support services to prevent families from experiencing a crisis, thus lowering rates of addiction, self-harm, and foster care entry in our community.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, we reveled a plaque dedicated to those who envisioned the Family Resource Center and to those who contributed to its construction. It was with great appreciation that we were able to honor all those individuals and community partners who gave generously to the realization of this dream. At the ceremony CEO, Zach Blend said , “The purchase of this center was made possible through partnership, commitment and investment by Cherokee County, specifically our government and commissioners who used $700,000 of (American Rescue Plan Act) funds to help us transform this building that was dated, half empty and underutilized to turn it into something important to help families that are in need of support and connection here in the Cherokee County community.”
Looking ahead, we envision the Family Resource Center as not just a facility but a catalyst for positive change. It is a place where families can find solace, support, and strength as they navigate life’s challenges and strive for a brighter future.
