Congratulations to Goshen alumni Zach Quiros on his graduation from Georgia State University! Zach completed a degree in finance with a 3.98 GPA, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Zach and his brother spent time together at Goshen Valley Boys Ranch as teenagers, and Zach spent a few more years in Goshen New Beginnings as he navigated college and young adulthood.
Many Goshen supporters have heard Zach speak at various Goshen fundraisers and events, sharing about his childhood and the ways that Goshen has helped him grow into the man he is today. In a video interview when Zach aged out of the Goshen New Beginnings program he shared the following;
“I was in a dark place. I don’t know where I’d be without Goshen, without the love and support of your team. When I think of Goshen I think of Family, I think of love, I just find comfort… All of the skills I need to be successful in life as an adult I’ve been able to refine over the last couple of years in Goshen.”
Zach recently celebrated at a graduation party with his former Goshen houseparents Dave and Kristy, other Goshen Valley staff members, his Connections Homes mentor family, and several Goshen alumni who wanted to join to celebrate his success.
College graduation is a major accomplishment for anyone, but even more significant for a former foster youth with only 3% ever obtaining a bachelor’s degree. To accomplish this in a challenging degree path and obtain a 3.98 GPA says even more about Zach’s wisdom, determination, and character.
Zach plans to take a while longer at his current job before he begins the search for his first career in finance or sales. Goshen Valley is so proud of all of Zach’s educational achievements, and we are confident that his future is even brighter. Join us in congratulating Zach Quiros on this major milestone!
