On Thursday, October 3, the Goshen Valley team came together to celebrate our annual Founder’s Day—a tradition that brings all staff from across our programs together to honor Goshen’s roots, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the mission that unites us.
This year, more than 100 staff members gathered at The Mill on Etowah for a day filled with connection, laughter, and the spirit of Goshen. Founder’s Day is not only a chance to step away from daily responsibilities, but also a reminder of the values that have guided Goshen since its beginning.
The Spirit of Goshen
As always, CEO Zach Blend shared reflections on the heart behind Founder’s Day. His message reminded the team of the importance of keeping the spirit of Goshen alive—focusing on relationships, mission, and the deep sense of purpose that defines our work.
Goshenopoly: A Day of Fun and Teamwork
The theme for 2025 was Goshenopoly, a Monopoly-inspired scavenger hunt designed exclusively for this event. Teams participated in Monopoly-style challenges and solved clues that took them throughout The Mill on Etowah. Along the way, staff worked together, problem-solved creatively, and discovered new ways to connect with one another.
More Than Just a Game
While the scavenger hunt was full of laughter and excitement, the day carried a deeper purpose: celebrating the people who make Goshen Valley what it is. Founder’s Day continues to be an opportunity for staff from every corner of the organization—whether at the Ranch, Goshen New Beginnings, Goshen Homes, the Family Resource Center, or the Foundation main offices —to come together as one united team.
As we look ahead, the bonds built on this day will continue to strengthen our work and deepen the impact Goshen Valley has across our community. Founder’s Day is more than an annual tradition—it’s a reflection of Goshen Valley’s commitment to building lasting community, honoring our mission, and celebrating the people who make it all possible.
