There’s no better way to spend your Saturday

“Did you do anything fun this weekend?” can be an awkward question for any teenager. But for our young men, there’s always one weekend they can go to school on Monday excited about their response. We call them 2nd Saturday Serving Days….

What are 2nd Saturday Serving Days?

2nd Saturday Serving Days are opportunities for our young men to join people in the community for hands on service projects around the ranch. There are several reasons we decided to create these serving opportunities each month…

First, it’s an opportunity for our young men to interact with people in the community. Every single one of our young men looks forward to these visitation opportunities. It’s a time for them to make meaningful connections and truly experience the blessing of relationship that can make such a difference in their growth and development.

Secondly, it’s a way to serve for people that like to get their hands dirty. We realize that not everyone enjoys tutoring or has the time to serve during the weekdays. Second Saturday Serving Days are a chance for you to serve by helping with hands-on projects that will beautify the ranch. Whether you’re a skilled craftsman who knows how to build anything or you’re just looking to get outside on a beautiful Saturday, we’ve created opportunities to serve for every age and interest.

What does a 2nd Saturday Serving Day look like?

Earlier this month, over 70 people visited the ranch to help clear out brush, revive our creek side chapel, and spend time getting to know the boys.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from this month’s day of serving:

Will you join us during our next Second Saturday?

One of the things we’ve learned over the years is that Goshen Valley is only as strong as our community. Thankfully, we’ve been surrounded by a community that cares so much about giving back and helping others.

Whether you’re a family, small groups, teams, civic groups, or an individual looking to volunteer, there’s no better way to spend your Saturday.

We’ve set aside the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. for you to come and join us and we make it easy for people of all ages to help.

Click here to learn more about the specific projects and serving opportunities for each month and register as an individual, family, or group.

If you’re unable to join us but still want to get involved, we’re always looking for supplies to use for certain projects. If there are certain tools or cleaning items that are just collecting dust, you can donate them. Click here to see our current list of needs or ask about a particular item.

Supporting Goshen through Giving Goods

There are countless ways for individuals, families, groups or teams to get involved at Goshen Valley! We have a newly-added "needs list" for those who would like to donate goods or host a drive. If this sort of giving interests you, please visit our "Volunteer Goods" page. If you have any questions or ideas, do not hesitate to contact us!

This page will be updated often. We will also begin to post monthly donation needs for those who would like to volunteer goods on a regular basis.

Thank You Be Rich

This year we welcomed over 450 Be Rich servants from North Point Ministries this past November - January. We decorated houses, played games, brushed horses, organized and cleaned many areas of the Ranch! We cannot thank you enough for every early, chilly morning you arrived to serve the young men and staff of Goshen Valley.
