Today, the Goshen Valley team had the privilege of participating in a transformative training session on Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), led by guest speaker Dr. Daren Jones. Known for his expertise in trauma-informed care, Dr. Jones guided us through a comprehensive workshop that reinforced the importance of connection, trust, and understanding when working with children and families affected by trauma.
During the training, Dr. Jones shared practical strategies for applying TBRI® in our daily work, highlighting how relational intervention can foster healing and growth. His insights were inspiring, helping our team strengthen the way we approach the care of children at Goshen Valley and our relationships with each other.
Jennifer Cash, Clinical Director at Goshen Valley Boys Ranch, captured the essence of TBRI’s impact, saying, “TBRI gives us a framework for how we view our clients, their families, and all other relationships in our lives. The philosophy of connecting with other people, empowering them to meet their own needs in healthy ways, and correcting in effective and gracious ways has been hugely beneficial to our community. We have seen increases in morale, staff retention, and stability of our kids’ placement and behavior since beginning the implementation of TBRI.”
Dr. Jones’ training not only equipped us with valuable tools but also deepened our commitment to creating safe, nurturing environments for the children in our care. As we continue to implement TBRI® principles, we look forward to seeing even more positive outcomes for both our staff and the kids we support.
