Every year, the Be Rich season reminds us what is possible when generosity meets obedience, and this year was no exception.
To the incredible volunteers from Woodstock City Church, thank you for showing up once again with open hands, willing hearts, and a deep commitment to serving others. Your time, energy, and compassion continue to leave a lasting mark on Goshen Valley and the youth and families we serve.
What makes this partnership so special is the story behind it. More than a decade ago, a simple act of service at Forever Fed led to a chance encounter between Scott and Cindi Smith and foster youth from the Goshen Valley Boys Ranch. That moment sparked curiosity, relationship, and ultimately a long-term commitment that would shape the future of our organization. Soon after, the Smiths, along with Wes and Malissa Mitchum and their small group, began visiting our campus, renovating spaces, upgrading homes, and most importantly, building meaningful relationships with our youth and staff.
That faithfulness led to Goshen Valley becoming a Be Rich partner, and in our very first Be Rich season, we welcomed more than 2,000 volunteers to campus. Since then, Woodstock City Church has mobilized thousands more, while also providing critical financial support that has strengthened programs like Goshen Therapeutic Services, the Family Resource Center, food support initiatives, and educational and summer programming.
This year’s Be Rich volunteers continued that legacy. Whether you served behind the scenes, completed hands-on projects, or simply showed up ready to help wherever needed, you played a direct role in creating safe, supportive environments where hope can grow.
Because of you, over $2 million has been invested into Goshen Valley’s mission over the past 13 years. Even more impactful than the numbers is the consistency: year after year, you choose to serve, to give, and to believe in the potential of foster youth and families in our community.
From all of us at Goshen Valley, thank you. Thank you for your generosity, your faithfulness, and your willingness to be part of something bigger than yourselves. We are deeply grateful for Woodstock City Church and every Be Rich volunteer who continues to walk alongside us.
Together, we are building brighter futures—one act of service at a time.
