How Local Churches Are Strengthening Foster Care
At Goshen Valley, we’ve seen how powerful the church can be in changing lives. Our mission to serve youth in foster care and families in crisis is strengthened through partnerships with local congregations who live out their faith by stepping into action — providing hope, resources, and community for those who need it most.
The Church Council of Goshen
The Church Council of Goshen unites pastors and ministry leaders from across North Georgia who share a heart for foster care and family restoration. Through quarterly gatherings and ongoing engagement, the Council keeps foster care at the forefront of local church missions — reminding us all that caring for vulnerable children is a collective calling.
Council churches include Mt. Paren North, Hillside, Freedom Church, His Hands, Jubilee, Crosspoint, Fully Alive, and Woodstock City Church.
Foster Sunday: Raising Awareness Across Congregations
Each year, churches across North Georgia dedicate a Sunday to focus on the needs of children and families in foster care. Known as Foster Sunday, these services highlight stories, challenges, and opportunities to make a difference through fostering, volunteering, or supporting organizations like Goshen Valley.
This year, Momentum Church and Freedom Church in Woodstock helped spread the message of foster care awareness by hosting Foster Sunday at their Woodstock and Jasper campuses.
Be Rich: Serving Through Woodstock City Church
Goshen Valley is honored to partner with Woodstock City Church through its annual Be Rich campaign — a movement that mobilizes thousands of church members to give, serve, and love their community.
Through Be Rich, Woodstock City Church volunteers have supported Goshen in tangible ways — from providing meals to helping with facility improvements. Their generosity continues to be a powerful example of what can happen when faith meets action.
Together, We’re Building Stronger Families
Every church partnership, act of service, and moment of prayer brings us one step closer to a world where every child has a safe, stable, and loving home.
If your church is interested in partnering with Goshen Valley or joining the Church Council of Goshen, please reach out to us. Together, we can bring light and love to youth and families across our community.
